How to Avoid Caching + Propagation of Products

Due to Shopifys’ Cache policy, there can be a delay when uploading new products to the Tapcart sales channel. When scheduling a drop for your latest collection release this can be a major pain point, but we have you covered!

Steps to Avoid Caching

  1. Send out a push notification and create a banner in the app, to notify your customers to update their app to the latest version beforehand

    • Most people have their apps set up to automatically update, but for those who don’t, it’s important to communicate with them to avoid any crashes on their individual devices.

      • Important Note: Our team monitors crash reports to ensure any bugs/crashes are not platform wide. This workaround is preventive for users who may not have automatic updates set up on their devices.

  2. Upload your products to the Tapcart sales channel 30 minutes ahead of time

    • This allows enough time for the products to propagate in your app.

      • Pro-Tip: To prevent users from seeing the products early you can…

        • Update the app design to just a banner and a countdown timer to avoid anyone accessing the products early while also creating hype about the upcoming drop!

Steps to Launch a Seamless Design Drop

  1. Activate products to the Tapcart Sales channel 30 min before the drop

    • You can keep the collection hidden from your design until the product is officially released

  2. Schedule a Tapcart Drop that contains the new collections/products you’re releasing

    • Important Note: Scheduling is available on Ultimate & Enterprise plans only

  3. Schedule a push notification for the new release at the exact time it launches

  4. Finally, add a custom banner and a countdown timer to create hype for the upcoming drop!
