Shopify Search & Discovery is a free Shopify app that powers the default search experience in your Tapcart app. It must be installed on your Shopify store for search to work correctly in the app — without it, your customers won't see search results, sort options, or filters.
What It Does
Once installed and configured, Shopify Search & Discovery powers the following in your Tapcart app:
Sort and filter on collection pages
Predictive search suggestions as customers type
Query suggestions
Collection suggestions
Product suggestions
When a customer types in the search bar and hits search, they are routed to a collection page grid showing the matching results — the same Collection page layout you configure in App Studio.
Why Shopify Search & Discovery + Tapcart?
Shopify Search & Discovery is a free Shopify app that has no plan restrictions. Once enabled and set up on your Shopify dashboard, it will automatically reflect in your Tapcart app.
How to Set It Up
Install the Search & Discovery app
Set up your configurations for sort, filter, predictive search, etc
Open your iOS or Android app and it should automatically display search & filter functionality from Shopify
No additional configuration is needed in the Tapcart dashboard.
Considerations
Hiding collections from search results - If you do not want Collections to be displayed in the app, remove Collections from the Predictive search results in the Shopify Search & Discovery settings.
Search not appearing correctly in the app - If you do not see your correct search, sort, or filters in your Tapcart app, you may not be on the latest mobile version. Please contact [email protected]
