Learn Our Best Design Practices when Creating Your Branding Assets
When designing your mobile app, it’s important to create a holistic brand experience. Your mobile app should be captivating while reflecting the same design theme as your website and social media accounts. In this article, we will be reviewing our best practices for designing a mobile app that displays your brand.
Creating a Brand Logo
The brand logo will display in the header of the homepage of your app. Being one of the first images the user will see when accessing your app, it’s important to have a clear and large brand logo. This will help with brand recognition and make your app look cohesive.
Important Note: A logo with a transparent background is going to integrate better into the app than one with a solid background
Custom Banner Designs
Utilizing simple, lifestyle images within your custom banners creates a holistic brand experience by showing how your products can be used day to day.
Custom Banner Designs Using GIFs
GIFs are a fun way to add movement to your app and keep users engaged. Make multiple banners while switching up the text or lifestyle images. This can also give you an opportunity to share more information without taking up space in your dashboard. You can use this link to easily convert your videos into GIFs.
Utilizing CTAs within Custom Banners
Custom banners can link to a specified product, collection, or webpage. Adding a clear call to action (CTA) within your banner shows the user this is a clickable link and helps them navigate your app intuitively while directing traffic to your highlighted item. Whether this is ‘Shop Now’ for a highlighted collection or ‘Learn More’ by linking out to a blog or video post, CTAs are important to incorporate within your custom banners.
Important Notes:
- The minimum font size for all files used is about size 22-24, depending on the font variation.
- If you’re not sure what the smallest legible font size is, export your asset to your phone to see if it is easy for you to read at the actual scale.
- Having high contrast text to the background improves legibility.
Utilizing Multipage
Multipage tabs allow users to easily browse by category. With multipage, you can reflect the same shopping experience you created on the web within your app. For a guide on different uses of multipage check out this link here.
Adding Social Banners
Incorporating social media banners on the home page of your app or product detail page is a great way to highlight other ways users can interact with your brand. You can upload a social banner utilizing the custom image block and link it out to the web URL for the specified social media channel.
Creating Video Banners
Use the video banner to take your lifestyle content to the next level. You can upload a short video to highlight a product or collection within the app! Creating a captivating and content-driven experience within the app.
Important Notes:
- We do not support sound for videos within the app.
- Videos must be under 10MB.
