Tapcart apps can show content in the shopper's language using two sources:
Native app text (buttons, cart labels, account labels, and other Tapcart UI strings) uses Tapcart's built-in translations. These follow the language set on the customer's device when they start a session.
Shopify catalog content (product titles, descriptions, collections, and other store data) uses the translations you publish in Shopify. Set those up with Translate & Adapt or another translation app, then publish the language in Shopify admin under Settings → Languages.
Shoppers do not need to change a default store language in Shopify for native app text to translate. The app reads the device language on each session and matches it to the closest supported locale. If there is no match, the app falls back to English.
The Locale Selector / Currency Selector in the app is for switching market and currency (Shopify Markets). It is not a language-only control. Language still follows the device in most cases. If you only have one market and one currency, that selector may display the current market and not open additional choices. For market and currency setup, see Tapcart x Shopify Markets.
Supported languages (native app text)
Tapcart includes built-in translations for these locales:

Indonesian
Italian
Japanese

Shopify catalog languages are not limited to this list. If a language is published in Shopify, product and collection translations can still appear in the app even when that language is not in the native UI list above.
Right-to-left languages (Arabic and Hebrew)
Arabic and Hebrew are included in native UI translations. Shopify catalog copy can also display in those languages when translations are published in Shopify.
Full right-to-left layout mirroring (moving left-side UI to the right) is not complete across every screen. Text can translate while some layouts remain left-to-right. If RTL layout is a requirement, test the live app on a device set to Arabic or Hebrew before launch.
Translate app navigation
App Navigation labels need a manual translation in the Tapcart dashboard:
In the dashboard header, click App Studio, then App Navigation.
Use the dropdown below the list of navigation items to select a language.
Enter the translation for each item.
Click Save & Publish. Those updates go live immediately (no app store rebuild).
Some areas are not fully translated yet, including parts of the left menu, multi-page titles, custom block headers, and some integration headers. Custom block text you write in App Studio also needs its own localized content if you want it to change by language.

We add languages over time. If you need a language that is not listed, contact Tapcart Support.
