Designing Search Preview Page

The Search Preview page is where customers type queries to find products or collections in your app. By default it is powered by Shopify Search & Discovery, which must be installed on your Shopify store for search to work correctly. See Shopify Search & Discovery + Tapcart for setup instructions.

Search Page Blocks

The Search page is made up of several blocks you can configure in App Studio. Navigate to App Studio → Screens → Search to access them:

  • Search Input — the text field where customers type their query

  • Trending Search Results — popular search terms surfaced to customers before they type

  • Trending Collections — collections highlighted on the search page to inspire browsing

  • Search Preview — product results that appear as a customer types, before they hit search

To add additional blocks, use the block library on the left side of the screen and drag them onto the canvas just like any other screen.

Important Note: When a customer hits search, they are routed to the Collections page. If you want to customize how that results page looks, including grid columns, product image style, and quick add settings, see Editing your Collections Page.
