Enabling In-App Subscription Management

How to activate native Recharge subscription management for your customers — requirements and navigation setup.

Overview

Tapcart's native subscription management lets your customers view and manage their Recharge subscriptions directly in the app — skip, pause, reschedule, cancel, swap products, and more. Four requirements must be in place before the feature is live for your customers.

Requirements Checklist

1. React Native App Version 21.5.0 or newer

Subscription management requires app version React Native 21.5.0 or newer. Earlier versions do not include the necessary subscription actions. If you're unsure of your current version, contact your CSM or reach out via LiveChat.

2. Recharge API Tokens

Two API tokens from your Recharge dashboard must be configured in Tapcart before the integration can be activated. See Recharge + Tapcart for step-by-step setup instructions.

3. App Navigation Link

There is no default header or nav bar item for subscriptions so you must add a link manually.

  • Recommended placement: the customer account page

  • Configure it to appear only when the customer is logged in

  • Label it Subscriptions

What Customers Will See

Once active, customers access three screens from the Subscriptions nav link:

  • Subscription List: Active and Inactive tabs showing all subscriptions, with order frequency and Subscribe & Save pricing

  • Subscription Details: Next order date, frequency, total, address, payment info, and all management actions

  • Subscription Swap: A searchable product list for swapping the subscribed item

Troubleshooting

If a customer can't find their subscriptions, the most common cause is a missing or misconfigured navigation link. Confirm that:

  • A Subscriptions link has been added to the app

  • The link is configured to appear only for logged-in customers

  • The customer is logged into the correct account

  • The LaunchDarkly flag has been enabled for your dashboard
