Klaviyo: Setting Up Abandoned Cart Flow

Setting up an automated abandoned cart flow can boost conversion by re-engaging with the user who left items in their cart when ending their app session. In this guide, we will walk you through how to set up this automated push series within your Klaviyo account.

Steps

  1. To get started, select Create Flow and Create From Scratch

  2. Enter the name and tag of your push flow, then select Create Flow

    • If someone can or cannot receive marketing

      • Person can receive > mobile push marketing AND

    • What someone has done (or not done) AND

      • Metric: Checkout Started (Shopify)

      • Zero times

      • Since starting this flow

    • What someone has done (or not done) AND

      • Metric: Placed Order (Shopify)

  9. Next, you will add another time delay for the next push notification to send within this series. We recommend setting the time delay for 1 day.

  10. Enter your second push's copy, following the same steps as listed in Step 7. Select Save Content to move on to the next step.

  11. Add a final time delay for the last push within this flow to send. We recommend setting the delay for 2 days.

You can set up each push in this flow to take the customer directly to their Cart when they tap it:

  1. Open the push's content editor (Configure Content when building the push, or Edit Content on an existing push)

  2. Scroll to Behaviors, select Open Action, and choose Deep Link

  3. Under both the iOS Link and Android Link fields, enter: {{event.Url}}?tcr=/cart

Repeat this for each push notification in the series so every push opens directly to the Cart.
