Loop + Tapcart

Updated yesterday

Can Tapcart integrate with Loop for subscriptions, and what are the requirements?

Tapcart allows merchants to enable subscription checkouts for any provider that utilizes Shopify Selling Plans. Tapcart does not natively support an integration with Loop Subscriptions for subscription management. However, it is possible to enable this functionality through custom screens. Below, we provide a detailed explanation of the integration capabilities and requirements.

Requirements for Enabling Loop Integration

To enable Loop integration in a Tapcart app, subscription checkouts must be enabled. If you want users to have subscription management options in the app, you can utilize custom screens that pull in your website portal so users don't have to leave the app.

Enable Subscription Checkouts

  1. Navigate to Settings within the Tapcart dashboard

  2. Scroll down to the Cart & Checkout section

  3. Enable the Allow Subscription Checkouts toggle and Save

Add the Subscription Selector to the Product Page

  1. Navigate to App Studio > Screens within the Tapcart Dashboard

  2. Select Product Detail from the Screen dropdown

  3. Search for Subscription Selector in the left block bank

  4. Drag and drop into your product detail page in the desired position (i.e. above the Add to Cart button)

  5. Edit the block to configure the settings as needed

  6. Publish the draft page to push the changes live

Create a Subscription Management Page

The integration works through Tapcart's Custom Screen feature, which loads Yotpo's subscriber portal inside your app via a WebView.

  1. Navigate to App Studio > Screens within the Tapcart Dashboard

  2. Select Custom Screen from the Screen dropdown

  3. Click + New Screen.

  4. Enter the screen title and draft name

  5. Select Settings and toggle to the Web-Based option

  6. Paste the Yotpo subscription portal URL

  7. Once the page is configured, Publish the draft.

  8. Link the Custom Screen from your app's homepage, bottom navigation, side menu, or account page so customers can find it.

Customer Experience

After setup, users can choose subscription options when adding products to cart. Once a subscription is created, the subscriber can tap the Custom Screen link in the app's navigation to open the Yotpo management portal. From there they can view upcoming orders, swap products, update shipping details, skip deliveries, or cancel all without leaving the app. The portal renders identically to the mobile web version of Yotpo's subscriber dashboard.

Limitations of Loop Integration

Loop is not supported out of the box in Tapcart. This means that there is no native, pre-configured screens available for merchants who want to use Loop for managing subscriptions.
