To build and submit your iOS app, Tapcart needs Admin access to your Apple Developer account via App Store Connect. This guide walks you through the invitation process step by step.
In this article:
How to invite Tapcart to your App Store Connect account
How to sign the required Apple Pay agreements
Troubleshooting common issues
Before You Begin
Your Apple Developer account must be enrolled as a Company/Organization (not Individual/Sole Proprietor). If you're currently enrolled as an Individual, follow our account migration guide before proceeding.
You must be the Account Holder (Owner) to invite new users and sign agreements.
Your Implementation Specialist (IS) will provide you with the specific email address to use for the invitation. This email is unique to your onboarding cohort, do not use an email from a different guide or another merchant's instructions.
Steps to Invite Tapcart
Navigate to App Store Connect and log in with your Apple Developer credentials.
Select Users and Access from the top menu bar.
Click the + button to add a new user, then fill in the fields exactly as provided by your Implementation Specialist:
First Name: as instructed by your IS (typically "Tapcart")
Last Name: as instructed by your IS (typically "Team")
Email: the email address your IS provided (e.g., [email protected])
Role: Admin β with access to all Additional Resources
Click Invite to send the invitation.
Let your Implementation Specialist know the invite has been sent so they can confirm receipt on our end.
Important: The Admin role is required so Tapcart can manage app submissions, metadata, and builds on your behalf. A lesser role will prevent us from completing your app launch.
Sign the Apple Pay Terms & Conditions
The account owner must also sign the Apple Pay Platform Web Merchant Terms and Conditions. This is required for Apple Pay to function within your app's checkout.
Log in with the Account Holder's Apple ID if prompted.
Review and accept the agreement.
Note: If the Apple Pay terms are not signed, your app build may be blocked from submission. This is one of the most common delays we see during the launch process.
Next Step: Provision Your API Key
Once the invite is sent, proceed to Provisioning an App Store Connect API Key for iOS Builds. This key is required for Tapcart to automate your iOS builds.
Troubleshooting
Tapcart didn't receive the invite
Double-check the email address matches exactly what your Implementation Specialist provided. A single typo will prevent delivery.
Check the "People" list under Users and Access to confirm the invite shows as "Pending." If it doesn't appear, try sending the invite again.
"You don't have permission" error
Only the Account Holder or an Admin user can invite other Admin users. If you're a team member with a lesser role, ask your Account Holder to send the invite.
Account is enrolled as Individual/Sole Proprietor
Apple does not allow Individual accounts to grant Admin access to other users. You'll need to migrate your account to a Company/Organization. See our migration guide for instructions.
