For You Feed FAQs

Content and Implementation

My feed looks generic. It doesn't feel personalized yet.

Expected early on. The feed starts from a catalog-wide default and personalizes as shoppers accumulate behavior in your app. Give it time and real shopper traffic. If it still isn't personalizing after a week of healthy traffic, reach out to support.

Can I pause the feed without losing my setup?

Yes. You can remove the block from your layout any time. Shoppers will stop seeing the feed immediately, and your setup stays intact. To also pause the AI processing running in the background (which uses AI credits), reach out to Tapcart; for now, that part is handled on our side. You can turn everything back on any time with no re-setup needed.

Can For You replace my home page or collections?

Yes, if that's how you want to use it. You can make the For You Feed the primary surface, replacing a static home page or taking the place of a collections tab, or run it alongside your existing surfaces. It's flexible in how it's placed.

How does it decide which collections to show?

AI looks at how each shopper has used the app and picks the collections most likely to interest them. Each entry also includes a short AI-generated explanation of why that collection is relevant.

Can I control which collections appear?

Yes. There are two controls:

  • Promoted Collections: collections you want prioritized

  • Hidden Collections: collections that should never appear in the feed

You can also adjust the AI subtitle, CTA button text, theme, scroll behavior, and image layout from the block settings.

What if my catalog is small?

The feed needs some catalog depth to personalize well. Very small catalogs (fewer than ~50 products) may see a default feed rather than a fully personalized one. Your collections still appear; they just won't be tailored to each shopper.

General

Does it work with AI push notifications?

Yes. Both features share the same personalization signal, so using them together gives shoppers a consistent experience: they discover relevant collections in the feed, and receive relevant re-engagement pushes. Running both together generally drives stronger repeat purchase behavior than either alone.

Does it work for every store?

It works best with a reasonable catalog size, multiple collections, and some shopper traffic. Very small catalogs, no collections, or very low traffic will get less value. If your catalog has zero active, in-stock products when For You is being enabled, it won't be able to generate a feed. You'll need to resolve your catalog state first.

Support

When to contact support

Reach out if:

  • You've placed the block but the feed doesn't appear for shoppers in your app.

  • The feed is showing the same collections to every shopper even after weeks of real traffic.

  • The rankings look off: obviously unrelated collections, duplicates, or generic catch-all collections dominating the feed.

  • Shoppers report they don't see the block in your app at all.

User specific Issue

  • Include the shopper's device ID if the issue is shopper-specific.
