Account & Billing Overview

Your Tapcart dashboard's Settings section lets you manage your account details, subscription plan, add-ons, and billing information. This guide covers everything in the Account & Billing area.

Account Settings

Navigate to Settings → Account & Billing in your Tapcart dashboard to view and edit:

  • Shopify URL: The Shopify store connected to your Tapcart account - this cannot be changed. If you need to connect to a different store, contact our Support Team.

  • Name & email: The primary contact for your account. Keep this up to date so you receive billing notifications, app status updates, and support responses.

  • Phone number: Optional, used for urgent communication during app submissions or critical issues.

  • Update Password: You can change your Tapcart dashboard login password from this section.

Plans & Pricing

Under the Plans section, you can view your current plan and pricing. From here you can:

  • Upgrade your plan to access additional features

  • Downgrade your plan if you need to adjust

Add-Ons

Below the plan selection, you'll find the Add-Ons section. Available add-ons include:

  • Tapcart AI Pro: Send personalized, behavior-driven messages with AI Push Notifications, automate setup and content with AI Autopilot, and turn images into high-engagement videos using Gen AI Video

Add-ons are billed as an additional monthly charge on top of your base plan.

Updating Your Payment Method

Most Tapcart bills are processed via Chargebee.

  1. Go to the Settings page of your Tapcart Dashboard

  2. Click the Manage button at the bottom of the page under Account & Billing.

  3. Select Payment Methods

  4. Choose Credit Card or Direct Debit to update the preferred payment method.

  5. Select Add to complete the process

If your billing is still through Shopify, your payment method is managed in your Shopify admin:

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin

  2. Go to Settings → Billing

  3. Update your payment method there

Changes to your Shopify billing will automatically apply to your Tapcart charges.

How to Cancel Your Subscription

To cancel a Chargebee subscription

  1. Go to your Tapcart Dashboard → Settings → Account & Billing

  2. Click Manage at the bottom of the page

  3. Select your subscription plan

  4. Click Cancel Subscription

To cancel a Shopify subscription

  1. Go to your Tapcart Dashboard → Settings → Account & Billing

  2. Click Cancel My Subscription at the bottom of the page

  3. Select Deactivate to confirm the cancellation

Note: Tapcart does not currently offer a way to schedule Shopify cancellations. You will need to manually cancel your subscription before the next billing cycle. If you are unable to access the billing area because it is locked due to a payment issue, you will need to resolve the outstanding payments first.

Troubleshooting Locked Billing Areas

  1. Address any overdue payments by following the prompts in your Tapcart Dashboard.

  2. Once your payments are up to date, access to the billing area will be restored.

  3. After regaining access, proceed with the standard cancellation process outlined above. This ensures that you can cancel your subscription even if the billing area was previously inaccessible.

What happens after cancellation

  • Your apps will remain live in the App Store and Google Play until they are unpublished

  • To remove your app from the Apple App Store, log in to your Apple Developer account, open App Store Connect, go to the Pricing and Availability section for your app, and select Unpublish.

  • Your Tapcart dashboard access will remain until the end of the billing period

  • Once the billing period ends, uninstall Tapcart in Shopify to fully sever the connection so users won't be able to access the app anymore.

  • Log in to your Shopify admin, go to Sales Channels, find Tapcart, and delete/remove it from your sales channels.- Once Tapcart is uninstalled from Shopify, the app will no longer load for users and will remain stuck on the launch screen when opened.

  • Users who have the Tapcart version of the app installed will not be able to access it.

Best Practices for App Transitions

  • Plan Ahead: Schedule the uninstallation and communicate the timeline to your users well in advance.

  • Test the New App: Ensure your new mobile app is fully functional and available on all platforms before initiating the transition.

  • Monitor User Feedback: Actively monitor user feedback after the transition to address any issues promptly.

User Communication Strategies

  • Use In-App Banners and Push Notifications: Notify users about the upcoming changes and guide them to update to your new mobile app via the App Store or Google Play.

  • Provide Clear Instructions: Include step-by-step guidance on how users can download and install the new app.
