Q: What are the requirements to use Tapcart?

Tapcart supports ecommerce merchants with a live store built on Shopify. You must have a paid Shopify plan (not a trial) to connect to Tapcart. Additionally, your business must be a recognized legal entity (Corporation, LLC, or Limited Partnership) to launch an app in the App Store and Google Play.

Q: Does the app sync with my Shopify store?

Yes. Your app syncs seamlessly with your Shopify store in real-time. Products, collections, inventory, pricing, images, and discount codes all update automatically. When you make a change in Shopify, it's reflected in the app within minutes.

Q: How do I sign up?

The easiest way to get started is through the Shopify App Store. Click "Add app" and connect your store. You'll get access to the Tapcart dashboard where you can design and preview your app. Our website at tapcart.com is for requesting demos with our Brand Experience Team.

Pricing & Billing

Q: How much does Tapcart cost?

Tapcart is a monthly subscription billed through Shopify on your monthly invoice — no separate credit card is required. Pricing varies by plan. Visit our pricing page for current plan details.

In addition to the Tapcart subscription, Apple charges a $99 annual fee for the Developer Program, and Google charges a one-time $25 fee for the Play Console developer account.

Q: Is there a free trial?

Yes. Tapcart offers a free trial that gives you access to the dashboard to design and preview your app. During the trial, we recommend designing your app and scheduling a demo with our team. If you select a plan during your trial and authorize Shopify to charge, you're opting into the monthly subscription.

Q: Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your Tapcart subscription at any time through the Billing section in your Tapcart dashboard settings. See Account & Billing Overview for detailed steps.

App Features

Q: Can customers check out directly in the app?

Yes. The Tapcart checkout is handled through your standard Shopify web checkout within the app.

Q: Does the app support push notifications?

Yes. Push notifications are included with all Tapcart plans. You can send pushes directly from the Tapcart dashboard, or integrate with third-party providers like Klaviyo or Attentive for automated push campaigns.

Q: Can I customize the look and feel of the app?

Absolutely. The Tapcart dashboard provides a no-code design editor where you can customize your app's colors, fonts, layout, navigation, and content. For advanced customization, Developer Tools offers Custom Blocks, the Web Bridge SDK, and more.

Q: Does Tapcart support returns and exchanges?

Tapcart integrates with popular returns platforms like Loop, Returnly, and Narvar through the Web Bridge SDK or Custom Blocks. Your returns portal can be embedded directly in the app.

Developer Accounts & Launch

Q: Do I need both an Apple and Google developer account?

Most merchants launch on both iOS and Android. Each platform requires its own developer account:

Once your developer accounts are set up and your app design is finalized, Tapcart submits your app for review. Apple typically takes 24–48 hours to approve, and Google Play is usually 1–3 days. The full process from sign-up to live app is typically under two weeks, depending on how quickly developer enrollment is completed.

Q: Can I migrate my existing app to Tapcart?

Yes. Tapcart can update over your existing app in the App Store and Google Play. Your ratings, reviews, and download link are preserved. See Migrating Your Existing App to Tapcart for details.

Q: Can Canadian (or other international) businesses use Tapcart?

Yes. Tapcart works with merchants worldwide. International businesses can obtain a D-U-N-S Number for Apple Developer enrollment — Dun & Bradstreet operates in over 200 countries. The Google Play enrollment process is the same globally.
